I prefer to work with companies that are local to me so I can build a face to face relationship but sometimes it is very hard to make a cold introduction. Quite often even if I am just asking for a contact name and email address to send my introduction email to the receptionist will just say "no sales calls" and hang up. Offering a free service or report seems to work slightly better for some people but again, many gate keepers are still suspicious and won't give out details or forward the call.
Is anyone willing to share any ideas on how to introduce yourself to local businesses?
